Working with Voila Design, I created this design and planting plan with a "wildflower meets potager" garden style. The repetition and symmetry of clean lines in the materials and hard surfaces formalize the garden, which is then balanced with a soft and relaxed style of planting.

Evergreen and larger shrub species provide year-round form, while the wide range of perennial species will create a wonderland over spring, summer, and autumn. The diverse selection of long-lasting flowering species provides a naturalistic and ever-changing garden that embraces moments of chaos.

Edible and native New Zealand plants will be mixed with perennial species along the Western wall, enhancing biodiversity, food production, and creating a haven for birds and beneficial insects.

I have also included a guide of best practices for creating productive vegetable and wildflower gardens. The plants suggested are ideal for beginner wildflower enthusiasts and represent only a small portion of the perennials available.
